These terms and conditions for DJ Sime are designed to protect both the entertainer and the client.

By making a booking, you agree to our retainer and cancellation policy, our final payment terms and our equipment liability clauses. This agreement also sets out the travel surcharge and force majeure terms for all events in Yorkshire.

1. Booking: retainer and cancellation

Retainer: the initial booking fee (retainer) secures your date and is non-refundable.

Cancellations: if you cancel your booking with more than 14 days' notice, a credit note for the value of the retainer will be issued for future use.

Date changes: requests to change your event date made with 14 or more days' notice depend entirely on calendar availability.

2. Final payment and performance

The outstanding balance is paid in full at the start of the event, straight after the equipment is set up.

Payment is made in cash unless something else has been agreed in writing beforehand.

If these payment terms are not met, the DJ reserves the right to withhold the performance.

3. Logistics: travel surcharge and access

Travel surcharge: a surcharge of £20 to £60 applies for venues more than 20 miles from Leeds city centre.

City-centre surcharge: a flat £50 surcharge applies for events in Leeds, York and some other major city centres, because of loading and parking.

Access surcharge: an access surcharge of £10 to £20 applies for set-ups on upper floors without lift access.

4. Safety and equipment liability

The client takes full responsibility for any damage caused to the DJ's equipment by guests, venue staff or unauthorised people. The full cost of professional repair or replacement must be covered by the client.

5. Force majeure and liability

The DJ is not liable for a failure to perform caused by events beyond reasonable control, for example extreme weather, road closures or a venue power failure.

In any force majeure situation, total liability is limited to a refund of the payments received, not including the initial retainer.

6. Performance policies

Music: your personal requests and the crowd on the night always come first, to keep the dance floor moving.

Playlists: your playlists must be sent at least 7 days before the event, by streaming link, text or email.

Overtime: any extra playing time is agreed on the night. Digital payments made on the night carry a £10 admin fee.
